K.H. Bahaudin Mudhary was born in April 1921 in Sumenep and died in December 1979 in Surayabaya. Despite finishing only the Muhammadiyah Kweek School in Jogjakarta in 1947, this broad-minded eastern Javanese scholar acquired immense knowledge through his reading of book in Indonesian, Arabic, English, German, Dutch, and French on philosophy and religion. He was also adept at playing musical instruments.This book is based on a meeting held on Tuesday, 9th March 1970, when the students from Sumenep Religious were joined by two others, Markan, a Muslim who came form Padang, and Antonius Widuri, a Christian of staunch Roman Catholic parents, who came from Jogjakarta.Markan was there to accompany Antonius Widuri who had for a long time wanted to meet Ustadh Bahaudin Mudhary to discuss matters concerning the Christian and Islamic concept of God and other issues relating to faith pertaining to these two religions.The events of this book take place over 9 consecutive nights following the first meeting between Ustadh Bahaudin Mudhary and Antonius Widuri.
